dear you,
i'm on the verge of a very exciting day!
sudha says we're going out together all day!
i really hope it all goes according to plan.
but anyways, to yesterday.
i would describe it as emotional for the first part and normal for the second part.
it was emotional in the morning because i got to skype janu and talk to him for a long time.
he's really sick with bronchitis so his voice is completely, but it was fun playing charades.
we'll probably get a guiness world record for the longest-distance game of charades :)
i cried like an idiot a couple of times, cuz i miss him, so that's the emotional part.
later that day, after an extraordinarily cold shower, i went to lila's office.
he and his other friend took me to lunch and i had vegetable momos, which are like dumplings.
they were very tasty.
ramchandra took me to our favorite tea place too, which was very generous of him.
while at the office, i figured out the prices for the different trips i want to take.
i think i'm going to do a 3 day trek in pokhara, a 3 day jungle safari in chitwan, and a mountain flight.
the mountain flight is to be able to see everest.
i'm not an experienced or acclimatized hiker, so they said i shouldn't attempt a trek to base camp.
base came is 5000+ meters, which is way too much for someone not used to the altitude.
the trek in pokhara is to 2000 meters or so, from 800 or so.
i wish i was awesome enough to climb to base camp but i really don't feel like getting altitude sickness.
besides, that trip take like 10 days and is wayyy expensive.
so 1 hr mountain flight around everest is ok with me.
if i come to nepal, i have to at least SEE everest :)
anyways, i saw some cool things on the way back home.
monday is a national holiday called army day and there is a big field where the army has been practicing for the parades and stuff.
yesterday a helicopter flew in and hovered like 30 feet above the ground as 20 guys slid down a rope coming out of the bottom and did some awesome g.i. joe type stuff.
it was pretty cool.
i also saw more monkeys.
the little baby monkeys are soooooo cute!
i wish i had a picture, but my ipod was dead when we saw them.
cool fact: if a license plate is black with white writing, it's a public vehicle like a taxi.
if it has a red background with white writing, it's a personal vehicle.
irrelevant, but still interesting.
anyways, the rest of the day was the usual come home, chill, eat supper next to the heater, go to bed.
the last couple nights, however, debaki and i have been watching a couple episodes of the korean tv show before bed.
yay for fun girly things! :)
well, i'm gonna go look presentable for my girl's day out!
so excited!
love,
me
