dear you,
i have internet again!
i didn't miss it a whole lot, but it's still nice to have the option again.
another toofer since i missed yesterday.
well, 1 1/2 cuz today isn't over and hopefully something will happen later today.
i finished the brochure yesterday, which was satisfying
i also decided to take initiative, and i went over to the orphanage by myself.
no one except the babies/toddlers were there cuz everyone else was at school.
i sat on the balcony with them while the caregiver ladies were doing the laundry.
everyone does laundry by hand here, scrubbing everything on the concrete with bars of soap and loufa type things.
i wanted to help but i would probably get in the way and i didn't know what they would think.
so i just sat with the kids, which was entertaining.
they took turns sitting on my lap :)

i don't know a polite way to put it, but apparently little suse has perfectly functioning female and male parts.
i think the face looks more like a boy, so i refer to him as a him.
something that was rather concerning about all the babies was that every single one of them has a snotty nose and a cough.
i wish i had medicine to give them, or immune supplements or something.
but i don't.
i have a sunburn now tho!
maybe, just maybe, i'll get some color back in my skin.
sudha told me the other day that i looked like the witch from narnia because i'm so white...
perfect.
so now i'm pink, and they're laughing at me more.
whatevs.
anyways, besides going to the orphanage, i only went out of the house to go with goma to visit a sick relative.
it was a nice walk and i got to see more of my immediate surroundings, as well as meet a guy who speaks normal english!
he's nepali, but he lived in london for a long time/probably still lives there so he speaks english with british accent.
last night, a happy surprise, sudha came to spend the night with me!
she said it's the first night she's spent away from her husband since she got married because he doesn't let her go places overnight alone.
i feel very honored that he let her come be with me.
she's very lonely at her home too.
she brought a korean tv show with her on dvd that we watched.
it's so cheesy but so funny!
it was kinda a girls' night because sudha, goma, gita, lina, debaki, and i all ate together around the heater.
i'm not sure where lila was, but there were no boys in the house :)
oh, another thing.
to go along with all the easy nepali names, i have been dubbed michy (meekee)
i would have thought they would spell it miki, but nope. michy.
back to the korean movie: so funny
it's not very well filmed and the background music is the same song over and over and over again, but it's entertaining.
sudha had to go do some errands this morning, so we watched a couple more episodes of "boys before flower" before she went.
today i haven't left the house, unless sitting on the balcony counts.
i watched way too many episodes.
i think i should start working out with all my free time.
might as well.
a happy thought, tho, is that lila says he has another job for me that he'll tell me about tonight!
another cool thing: debaki just put mustard oil in my hair.
it looks pretty gross tho

ok. la. ok la. (la is nepali for ok. which turns out to be pretty funny cuz sometimes they go 'lalalalalala' when they're trying to tell you they understand :P)
