dear you,
first post! here goes:
the next few days are going to be completely life-changing and scary and wonderful, all at once!
i'm flying to kathmandu, nepal tomorrow to volunteer at an orphanage for two months
i'm purposely leaving punctuation off the end of that sentence because i'm not sure whether to be sad or excited.
sad that i have to be away from my family and friends for so long.
excited to be traveling (my favorite thing to do) and experiencing a new culture!
a mix of both is probably the best way to describe the feeling.
bittersweet.
but i know it's going to be an amazing experience!
i'm not completely sure what my duties are going to be, but i have been told that some of them include:
-helping the children with their homework
-teaching moral education (whatever that means)
-general helping and having fun
during my stay, i'm also hoping to spare some time for trekking through the great himalayas!
i really want to hike to everest base camp, mostly just to say i did
but i'm not a hiker person, so who knows if i'll be able to manage that.
fingers crossed!
anyways, here starts another journey across the world
and i hope you'll join me!
