a temple run and the best festival ever.

because i can.
anyways, i haven't updated in awhile, so my apologies.
i was waiting for my pictures.
tuesday goma and indira and i went to a temple in the bhaktapur district.
they took a little girl, ugena, from the hostel who doesn't talk, and were hoping that ganesh,
the god they were worshiping that day, would heal her.
-i think ganesh is the elephant one-
anyways, it didn't work.
and i got hit on by some nepali journalist guy while i was waiting.
he found me on facebook...
oh goodness.
but i got some good photos!

then came the real fun.
wednesday was a festival called holi.
it's basically a national holiday dedicated to throwing water balloons and paint at each other.
it was wonderful.
WE NEED THIS IN OUR CULTURE.

stealth mode, activated.

I AM the bucket master.

 we took a break and ate some lunch.
then reassembled, repainted our faces, and continued our war against each other and the hostel kids on the ground.
a few of them joined us in the end, which made it even more fun

 after we exhausted our resources, we cleaned up and went to get some cake.
it was sudha and suvash's one year wedding anniversary.
which definitely merits some cake.

 and then
as if we hadn't done enough for holi
we snuck out,
(we being gita, me, sudha, sumit, suvash, and debaki)
and went to a nearby shop.
and bought an unhealthy amount of junk food :D
and then proceeded to eat it all, while watching the smurfs.
perfect end to an amazing day
